Mental Health Referral

Mental Health Referrals

Collaborative, Evidence-Based Care

Thank you for considering a mental health referral. I have extensive experience working collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, as well as with agencies and insurers including PCVRS, VAC, WCB, and WorkSafeBC, on mental health referrals to provide evidence-based psychological care for adults and couples—online Alberta-wide and in-person in Edmonton.

For consultation or mental health referral inquiries, please contact me directly to discuss client fit, treatment focus, and referral parameters. With client consent, I provide regular updates and welcome coordination to ensure continuity and integration of care across providers.

Clinical Approach & Therapeutic Modalities

My practice is grounded in empirically supported treatments for a range of psychological concerns, including expertise in the delivery of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Conjoint Therapy (CBCT)—also known as CBT for couples—Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). These modalities are applied with precision and flexibility, integrating Socratic questioning and mindfulness-based techniques to support insight, engagement, and skill development.

Specialized Training & Educational Background

I specialize in these modalities, having received direct training and supervision from Dr. Candice Monson and Dr. David Paul spanning multiple years while delivering empirically supported treatments throughout my academic, research, and clinical work.

I earned a Master’s of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta in 2023. My graduate training included a practicum at the University’s Counselling & Clinical Services Centre, where I provided therapy and clinical psychodiagnostic assessments to clients navigating a range of challenges, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), suicidality, depression, trauma, and anxiety.

Areas of Clinical Focus

I work primarily with individuals and couples addressing post-traumatic stress, operational stress injuries, anxiety disorders, depression, burnout, occupational stress, erectile dysfunction, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and relationship difficulties. I also assist individuals navigating life transitions, grief, and adjustment following high-intensity or service-related experiences.

Treatment Philosophy

As a Registered Psychologist and Canadian Armed Forces Veteran, my clinical approach combines structure with empathy—balancing a collaborative, client-centred process with fidelity and adherence to the evidence base, and the scope of the mental health referral. While treatment is tailored to each client’s presentation and readiness, as I respect client autonomy and pacing, interventions remain anchored in the established literature and treatment protocols.
